Photo preparation tips
- Start with a plain, sharp head-and-shoulders portrait so the everyday-to-cinematic transition is legible.
- Keep hair and face unobscured by sunglasses or hands.
- Use even daylight rather than a sunset photo; the template supplies the pier light.
Planned scene: raindance pier
The Raindance AI trend is a two-shot edit. Shot one is a plain, everyday photo of someone. Shot two is the same person on a wooden pier above the sea with the sun low behind them, singing straight into the lens while the camera pushes in slowly, like a music video.
The look is borrowed from the music video for "Raindance" by Dave and Tems, which is why that song sits under almost every post. The format took off on TikTok in late September 2026. Solo takes are the most common; duets with two people trading a line on the same pier exist too.
The appeal is the jump from normal to cinematic. This page makes that jump from your own photo: your face, hair and clothes, a pier and a sunset built around you.
